TORONTO, Nov. 18, 2016 /CNW/ - Judy John, Chief Creative Officer North America and CEO for Leo Burnett Canada has been named Canada's 2016 Marketer of the Year by the Canadian Marketing Association (CMA).
The award was presented at the CMA Awards Gala on November 18 in Toronto, recognizing John's strong leadership, creative ability and innovative thinking that have transformed Leo Burnett Canada into a global agency.
"Judy John is an inspiration to marketers across Canada and has helped to propel the Canadian marketing profession onto the international stage," said Doug Brooks, President & CEO of the Canadian Marketing Association. "Under her direction, her team crafts creative, strategic approaches while delivering on campaign effectiveness measures in-market for their clients."

The CMA Marketer of the Year Award is a special award that celebrates senior marketers at the top of their game and at top of the profession in Canada. Nominations are submitted to the Canadian Marketing Association and are reviewed by a selection committee comprised of senior representatives from across the profession, including client, media, retail, tech and agencies.
The most recent recipients of the CMA Marketer of the Year Award were Duncan Fulton, President at FGL Sports (then Senior Vice-President and Executive Officer at the Canadian Tire Corporation) and Dominic Mercuri, recently retired Executive Vice-President Community, Environment & Chief Marketing Officer at TD Bank Group.
