MONTREAL, Nov. 27, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - Tomorrow, the Casino de Montréal will open its doors wide to the public to unveil its new interior. After four years of construction work, Loto-Québec is proud to unveil its new casino, stepping into the future to surprise, entertain and impress its customers. For the occasion, a whole program of activities has been organized from Thursday, November 28th, to Sunday, December 1st: music, draws, performances and souvenir gifts. Our signature characters, namely the Jack of Diamonds, Queen of Hearts, King of Spades and the Joker who each preside over a Casino floor, will provide a warm welcome to thousands of visitors.
Starting at 5 p.m. tomorrow, visitors will be greeted by a guard of honour formed by 24 tuxedo-clad ambassadors. On Thursday and Friday, the All Access band will lead opening celebrations starting at 5 p.m. in front of the multimedia wall on Level A, which is the domain of the Jack of Diamonds. From 10:30 p.m. to 2 a.m., projections on this huge wall will provide the backdrop for DJ Sphère and dancers, while the new bars in central areas will provide festive hosting all evening long. Visitors in gaming areas will receive a souvenir deck of cards to mark the event.
On Saturday, November 30th, a DJ will electrify the ambiance from 1 p.m. to 3 a.m. Themed projections on the multimedia wall will complete the sensory experience of rock 'n' roll, salsa and freestyle music. From 3 p.m. to 1 a.m., a total of $15,000 will be paid out to 200 draw winners as $25 to $150 prizes.
Finally, to celebrate the end of renovation work, cupcakes will be served at the main entrance to the first 4,000 visitors arriving between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Sunday, December 1st. In the meantime, Nancy Martinez and her guest will perform in the multimedia space on the Casino's Level A, followed by Nancy Fortin from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to close the celebrations.
Note that festivities were kicked off last Thursday by Québec Premier Pauline Marois and Montréal's mayor, Denis Coderre, when they officially inaugurated the new space. A number of public personalities, including Sonia Benezra, Benoit Brière, Rémi Girard, Luc Langevin and Joannie Rochette, walked the red carpet.
A reimagined casino
Visitors will discover the Casino's new, completely reimagined interior design. The slot machine area now includes 3D animation with well-known film characters and a huge volcano that erupts in sound and light. Three megastructures literally suspended in the air at the very centre of the Pavillon de la France make having a simple drink an extraordinary experience. Finally, spectacular visual effects created in cooperation with Montréal firm Moment Factory are projected on a huge 14-metre wide by 21-metre high multimedia wall.
Now that renovations are complete, the Casino is more beautiful and spacious, restaurant services are better adapted to current trends and parking access is greatly improved. The entire project also highlights our design heritage and natural surroundings as well as the area's tourism and recreational vocation in full respect of the buildings' architectural integrity.
Outstanding customer service
"At the heart of the project was our desire to set ourselves apart from competitors, particularly with regard to customer service, and offer games that are as innovative as they are diverse," explained François Hanchay, Director General of the Casino de Montréal. "We want to go beyond visitors' expectations, to amaze them and create a unique environment that will have them coming back."
