TORONTO, Dec. 17, 2012 /CNW/ - Meet the Ferguson family, who is the winner of a $35,000 home renovation as part of a contest created by the Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD) and the Toronto Star.
The 35-week contest celebrated the 35th anniversary of the Toronto Star's New in Homes section and received 6,235 entries from readers across the GTA and beyond.
Contest participants were asked to submit a compelling answer to the question: what would a new home or a renovation mean to you? Entries were judged based on originality, quality of writing and the interesting nature of the submission.
Rosalie, Scott and two-and-a-half year old Nicholas, who was diagnosed with autism last year, will explain why they entered the contest, what they will do with the $35,000 and what winning means to them.
