/R E P E A T -- Media advisory - Announcement of Canada's entry for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar/

MONTRÉAL, Sept. 24, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - Telefilm Canada invites members of the media to a press conference for the announcement of the feature film that will be selected to represent Canada for consideration in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 88th Academy Awards.

In the past six years, Canada has distinguished itself with four nominees in this category: Incendies (Denis Villeneuve), the minority coproduction (Poland-Germany-Canada) In Darkness (Agnieszka Holland), Monsieur Lazhar (Philippe Falardeau) and Rebelle (Kim Nguyen).

Canada's selection is made by a pan-Canadian committee comprised of 23 voting members representing major government agencies and national film industry associations.
