TORONTO , Oct. 20 /CNW/ - Aviva Canada will be introducing a nation-wide competition, which will see a large-scale $500,000 donation put towards the fulfillment of positive community changes in neighbourhoods across Canada . Aviva, one of the leading Property and Casualty insurance groups in the country, is celebrating the program launch at George Harvey Collegiate Institute, where the company will donate $10,000 to build and stock a greenhouse for the school's breakfast program.

Supporting the needs of the Keele & Eglinton neighbourhood, the greenhouse will be used grow vegetables year-round for the school's Jump Start Breakfast Program, which provides a free nutritious breakfast to its less privileged students five days a week. Having served over 70,000 breakfasts since its inception 10 years ago, George Harvey C.I.'s Jump Start program feeds approximate 75-100 people per day and is led by the school's loyal staff and student volunteers.
