/R E P E A T -- Media Advisory - Canadian Armed Forces Personnel, Veterans and Parliamentarians to Re-Enact Korean War Imjin River Hockey Game on Rideau Canal Skateway/

OTTAWA, Feb. 8, 2013 /CNW/ - A Canadian military team and a parliamentary team will battle it out in the "Imjin Classic," a scrimmage hockey game to commemorate the original games played on the frozen Imjin River during the Korean War in the winters of 1952 and 1953.

In early January, Minister Blaney announced that 2013 marks the Year of the Korean War Veteran, coinciding with the 60^th anniversary of the Korean War Armistice and the 50^th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Canada and South Korea.
