OTTAWA, April 18, 2018 /CNW/ - The Canadian Committee for World Press Freedom will hold its annual luncheon on May 3 to mark UNESCO's world press freedom day and honour award-winning journalists
What: Twentieth annual World Press Freedom Day Luncheon and 18th international cartoon competition. Presentation of awards to journalists and media workers who have done exemplary work in defence of press freedom during the past year. Awards will also be presented to winners of the cartoon competition on the theme, "The high price of a free press."
When: Thursday, May 3 at 11:30 am
Where: National Arts Centre, Canada Room, 1 Elgin St. Ottawa
Who: Keynote speaker will be Daniel Dale, The Toronto Star's Washington correspondent and fact checker extraordinaire.
Winners of the 20th press freedom award and the 18th cartoon contest will be announced at the luncheon.
Hosts: The Canadian Committee for World Press Freedom, with the patronage of the Canadian Commission for UNESCO and with presenting sponsor, the Canadian Bankers' Association.
