/R E P E A T -- Media Advisory - Denis Coderre and Éric Forest to discuss the priority economic development issues at the Quebec Employers Council's speaker's forum, the day after the Québec election/ Français
MONTRÉAL, April 3, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Quebec Employers Council president Yves-Thomas Dorval invites media representatives to attend a luncheon-conference with Montréal mayor Denis Coderre and Éric Forest, the mayor of Rimouski and the president of the Union des municipalités du Québec. On the day after the Québec election, Mr. Coderre and Mr. Forest will be participating in a roundtable discussion about Québec's economic priorities and the role of municipalities in this regard.
The luncheon-conference, which is being held in conjunction with the Quebec Employers Council's annual general meeting, will also serve to honour various personalities in the Québec business community. The honorees include Hervé Pomerleau, the founder and director of of the Pomerleau company, who will receive the prestigious Prix de carrière 2014 awarded by the Employers Council in recognition of his outstanding contribution to Québec society. The Council, exceptionally, will also be awarding a second Prix de carrière this year. It will be bestowed posthumously to Luc Beauregard, the founding chairman of the RES PUBLICA Consulting Group and the NATIONAL Public Relations firm. The Council will also be taking the opportunity at this time to induct three prominent business leaders into its select Club des entrepreneurs to acknowledge their immeasurable contribution to Québec's economic development. This year's inductees are Johanne Berry, the president of Télé-Ressources, and brothers Andrew and Geoff Molson, who are respectively the chairman of the RES PUBLICA Consulting Group and president and CEO of the Montreal Canadiens hockey club.
The annual meeting will be preceded by a media briefing at which Mr. Dorval will present the Employers Council's 2013 Activity Report and will provide an overview of the Council's achievements over the last year. He will also use this speaker's forum to comment on the results of the Québec election and discuss the priority economic issues for the new government and Québec society as a whole, notably by providing a first look at the Council's newly published Platform 2014-2017.
