OTTAWA, July 6, 2018 /CNW/ - The Canadian Teachers' Federation (CTF) will release findings of its first-ever Pan-Canadian Research Review on violence in schools on Monday at the opening session of the Canadian Forum on Public Education in Edmonton. The Forum, whose theme is "Safe and Caring Schools", will also feature a panel of teacher organizations presidents who will describe their respective provincial research findings and perspectives, specifically on violence against teachers.
The CTF analyzed research findings on violence in schools involving over 40,000 teachers represented by the Elementary Teachers' Federation of Ontario (ETFO), the Ontario English Catholic Teachers' Association (OECTA), the Manitoba Teachers' Society (MTS), the Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation (STF), the Alberta Teachers' Association (ATA), the British Columbia Teachers' Federation (BCTF) and the Quebec Provincial Association of Teachers (QPAT).
About 150 educators, researchers and teacher leaders from across the country will explore the multiple challenges and promising strategies in maintaining safe and caring school environments. Program at a glance.
