/R E P E A T -- Media Advisory - Government of Canada commemorates the national historic significance of the Toronto Maple Leafs/ Français
TORONTO, Oct. 2, 2018 /CNW/ - Parks Canada and Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada will take part in a plaque unveiling ceremony to commemorate the national historic significance of the Toronto Maple Leafs.
As one of the first teams to compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) formed in 1917, the Toronto Maple Leafs won 13 Stanley Cup championships between 1918 and 1967 and fostered numerous hockey legends.
Mr. Brendan Shanahan, President and Alternate Governor of the Toronto Maple Leafs will be available for a brief media opportunity following the event.
