OTTAWA, May 1, 2015 /CNW/ - The Government of Canada will host two commemorative events to mark significant World War anniversaries.
The Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) will mark the 70th anniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic with a ceremony and military parade at the National War Memorial.

In the afternoon, a statue of Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae will be unveiled on Green Island, in Ottawa, marking the 100th anniversaries of the Second Battle of Ypres and the writing of In Flanders Fields.
