Special ribbon cutting ceremony and tours of Canada's first private commercial grains analytical testing lab.
GUELPH, ON, July 6, 2016 /CNW/ - Grain Farmers of Ontario, the province's largest commodity organization, and SGS Canada Inc., the world's leading company in testing, inspection and certification, will be opening the first private commercial grains analytical testing facility for cereal crops. This is the first time in Canada a producer organization and private company joined to develop a laboratory of this nature.
The laboratory will help better position Canadian farmers and Canadian cereal crops as a leader both in domestic and international markets. The lab will conduct a full suite of tests including rheological testing, physical dough and bake testing, protein levels, and more.
On Monday, July 11 special guests will talk about the lab's capabilities to fully support the growth of grain farmers, processors and millers in Canada by providing quality data to aid in their marketing efforts. The work performed in the laboratory will enhance customer confidence in Canadian grain both domestically and internationally by providing extensive quality assessments that solidify the reputation of Canadian crops.
