TORONTO, Oct. 30, 2012 /CNW/ - The Canadian Diabetes Association makes a difference in the lives of over nine million Canadians living with diabetes and prediabetes. To raise awareness and raise money for this lifelong metabolic disease, Deena Archibald and Sarah Icely have embarked on a one-year endeavor to raise $15,000 for the Canadian Diabetes Association with an end goal of completing the Reykjavik hike in August of 2013.
In collaboration with Hot House Cafe, the fundraising duo will be hosting an event on November 8th at 7 p.m.

- A three course meal
- An inspirational speech given by Mark Kerwin (marathon runner and type 1 diabetic)
- Entrance to the silent auction
