/R E P E A T -- Media Advisory - Indigenous Leaders, Legal Experts Opposing Site C Hold Press Conference on Parliament Hill/

OTTAWA, Sept. 12, 2016 /CNW/ - Indigenous leadership, community members and allies of Treaty 8 territory of northeast British Columbia will converge on Parliament Hill on Tuesday to voice their staunch opposition to the Site C hydroelectric dam project, which the Trudeau government issued construction permits without adequate protection of Treaty rights. This press conference will fall on the ninth anniversary of the adoption of UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, and marks one day after the Federal Court of Appeal hearing into the Prophet River and West Moberly First Nations legal challenge to the Site C dam.
