/R E P E A T -- Media Advisory - International Competition Network gathers in Ottawa to combat cartels in public procurement/

OTTAWA, Sept. 13, 2017 /CNW/ - Media representatives are invited to attend part of the 14^th annual International Competition Network (ICN) Cartel Workshop hosted by the Competition Bureau from October 4 to 6, 2017, at the Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa.

Approximately 250 representatives from 50 different jurisdictions around the world will gather at the Fairmont Château Laurier to share insights and best practices on this year's theme: Combatting Cartels in Public Procurement.

The following sessions are open to media representatives:

October 4 at 10 am:	Opening remarks by John Pecman, Commissioner of Competition and Michiel Denkers, Director of Competition, Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets; Co-Chair of Subgroup 2 of the ICN Cartel Working Group
October 5 at 8:45 am:	Remarks by the Honourable Amarjeet Sohi, Minister of Infrastructure and Communities
9:15 am:	Media availability with:
	John Pecman, Commissioner of Competition
	Antonio Capobianco, Senior Competition Expert at the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development
	Lynette Chua, Senior Assistant Director at the Competition Commission of Singapore
	Marvin Price, Acting Deputy Assistant Attorney General at the United States Department of Justice, Antitrust Division
October 6 at 12:15 pm:	Closing remarks delivered by Stéphane Hould, Deputy Commissioner of Competition, Competition Bureau and Mukhamed Khamukov, Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia; Co-Chair of Subgroup 2 of the ICN Cartel Working Group
