MONTREAL, May 3 /CNW Telbec/ - Since he came to power in 2009, U.S. President Barack Obama already has several achievements to his credit: implementation of a record stimulus plan, adoption of a historic health care reform, major financial reform package in its late stages. The U.S. economy has suffered since the fall of 2008, but is showing signs of a strong recovery even if its impact on job growth has yet to materialize. More than ever, developments in the United States are crucially important to Québec's future. On trade and investment, climate change and public safety, Québec and the United States enjoy a long-standing partnership. John Parisella will provide an overview of these questions from his perspective as Quebec Delegate General in New York. Mr. Parisella will also talk about the issues he monitors very closely in his role as Quebec's senior representative in the U.S., notably hydroelectricity exports to the United States and the development of a high-speed passenger rail link between Montréal and New York City.
We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you to this most fascinating luncheon presentation.
