TORONTO, Nov. 30, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Mothers Against Drunk Driving Canada (MADD Canada) and Uber Canada are announcing a joint fundraising and awareness campaign to remind Canadians of the danger of impaired driving.
The campaign, which runs through December, will have Uber Canada make a $1 donation to MADD Canada for every "Compliment" badge riders send via the app to their driver, up to a total donation of $100,000.
Uber Canada and MADD Canada invite media to the Uber Greenlight Hub in Toronto on Thursday, November 30th at 10:00 am ET, where they will share more information regarding the fundraising and awareness campaign. Local law enforcement and stakeholders will be on-hand to discuss trends and efforts to curb driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
At the event, MADD Canada will unveil its new PSA, which will begin airing in December. Uber Canada will also honour local drivers who dedicate late night working hours towards getting people home safely.
