RADISSON, SK, June 4, 2018 /CNW/ - Media representatives are invited to tour the facilities of the new weather-radar site located in Radisson, Saskatchewan. This site is the first of a series of new weather-radar installations, as part of the Government of Canada's investment to modernize Canada's weather-radar network.
Following the tour, departmental spokespersons will be available to answer questions and provide interviews.

Directions (from Saskatoon): Head northwest on Yellowhead Highway (SK-16) for approximately 65 km, to get to the town of Radisson. From the junction of Highway 340 and Yellowhead Highway (in Radisson), proceed another 4.4 km on Yellowhead Highway to the first gravel crossroad. Turn right onto the gravel crossroad and proceed north for approximately 4 km. The weather-radar site will be located on the east side of the gravel road.

Important
The tour may be delayed if there is inclement weather on the day of the event.
Media who want to access the dome must wear appropriate footwear to climb up the ladder.
Please note that cellphone reception at the radar site is quite poor, which could result in a lack of cellphone service.
