/R E P E A T -- Media Advisory - Minister Petitpas Taylor to Announce a New National Program for PHD Students/ Français
The minister will visit the Rekai Centre and Toronto Rehabilitation Institute
TORONTO, Sept. 29, 2017 /CNW/ - The Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor, Minister of Health, will announce a new national program that provides PhD graduates with valuable experience working in health services delivery organizations. Prior to the announcement the Minister will tour the Rekai Centre and learn how the Centre is enriching the lives of the residents of this long-term care centre.
The Minister will also tour the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute where she will meet with researchers from AGE-WELL NCE (Canada's Technology & Aging Network) and Toronto Rehab. The tour will include demonstrations of technologies and other solutions being developed, with support from the federal government, to enhance the quality of life of seniors. The Minister will visit the Challenging Environment Assessment Labs (CEAL). CEAL features the world's first hydraulic motion simulator that mimics everyday environmental challenges faced by older people and those with a disabling illness and injury.
