/R E P E A T -- Media Advisory - Minister Wilkinson to visit St. John's, Newfoundland: Itinerary for Media/ Français
OTTAWA, Nov. 30, 2018 /CNW/ - Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard, the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, and the Minister of Fisheries and Land Resources for Newfoundland and Labrador, the Honourable Gerry Byrne, will co‑chair the 2018 Canadian Council of Fisheries and Aquaculture Ministers' meeting taking place in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador.
Minister Wilkinson will use this opportunity for productive discussions with his provincial and territorial counterparts on common priorities including marine protected areas, aquatic invasive species, aquaculture, Indigenous reconciliation and ways of strengthening trade and international market access to ensure continued economic growth for the Canadian fish and seafood sector.

Atlantic Fisheries Fund Announcement
In addition, Minister Wilkinson, Premier Dwight Ball, Minister Byrne, MP Gudie Hutchings and MP Churence Rogers will make an important announcement related to the Atlantic Fisheries Fund in St. John's. This funding will support investments in innovation and technology to produce high quality Canadian Seafood products.
