/R E P E A T -- Media Advisory - National Airlines Council Available for Comment on Federal Budget; Airport Privatization/ Français
OTTAWA, March 21, 2017 /CNW/ - Massimo Bergamini, President and CEO of the National Airlines Council of Canada (NACC) will be on Parliament Hill to give his organization's perspective on the federal budget. Of particular concern to Canadian air carriers is the continued uncertainty over the future of Canada's airports and its cost, service and competitive implications.
"Media reports suggest that the federal budget will be silent on the issue of airport privatization, but we find little comfort in that," said Bergamini. "What is needed is not the continued ambiguity of a tactical retreat, but a simple, clear repudiation of an idea that carries no demonstrable benefits for travellers, communities or Canada's airlines."
