TORONTO, May 11 /CNW/ - Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) President Linda Haslam-Stroud, RN will join Princess Margaret Hospital RNs for a Nursing Week luncheon on Wednesday.
As part of Nursing Week 2010 celebrations, Haslam-Stroud will join the RNs to personally wish them a Happy Nursing Week. National Nursing Week is May 10 to 16 and ONA nurses will celebrate across the province.
ONA's theme for Nursing Week 2010 is "Celebrate our Nurses: The Heart of Health Care" and site visits to nurses are intended to help them celebrate. There have been numerous RN position cuts across the province in recent months and ONA launched a public ad campaign this week to fight those cuts. But despite those cuts, this is a week to celebrate the skills and professionalism our nurses bring to health care. Haslam-Stroud will be at Princess Margaret Hospital from 11:30 am to 2:30 pm and will be available to speak to local media prior to or following the luncheon.
