OTTAWA, June 4, 2018 /CNW/ - Parks Canada is organizing a "Parks Canada Day on the Hill" event to celebrate World Environment Day, and to promote Parks Canada programs and fun and engaging outdoor activities in national parks and national historic sites, including the Learn-to Camp Program and Parks Canada Bioblitz.
These activities encourage a broader diversity of visitors to discover and connect with Parks Canada places, so more Canadians can experience the outdoors and learn about Canada's natural and cultural heritage.
The Minister of Environment and Climate Change and Minister responsible for Parks Canada, Catherine McKenna, accompanied by the Minister of National Revenue, Diane Lebouthillier will participate in the event. They will be joined by elementary school students, youth from the United Nations Association of Canada and Members of Parliament.
Parks Canada outreach and promotional activities will run from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and will be available to the general public.
