/R E P E A T -- Media advisory - Peter McQueen to Travel to Toronto to Attend
Annual Conference of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities/
MONTREAL, May 28 /CNW Telbec/ - The City Councillor for Notre-Dame-de-Grâce (NDG), Peter McQueen, will be in Toronto this weekend to represent Projet Montréal at the Annual Conference of the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, an event which will bring together more than 1,500 municipal leaders. McQueen will be paying his own way to this conference.
This event will allow McQueen, who is the financial critic for Projet Montréal, to make contacts with colleagues from across Canada. It will also be a chance for him to learn about new approaches to better serve the citizens of NDG and to make the party better known outside of the Montreal area.
"People should know that there is a political party in Montréal that is different from the rest: one with integrity and full of new ideas. I am eager to tell my colleagues from across Canada that we want to build a city that is accessible for families, one that will be based on the Transit Oriented Development (TOD) development model. Our objective is to make Montreal the North American reference point in terms of public transportation and active transportation," declared McQueen. Appropriately, McQueen will travel to Toronto by train.
"I also hope to learn about the best practices in place across the country so as to bring them back here for the benefit of all Montrealers," concluded the councillor for NDG.
Peter McQueen will be available for interviews from Friday to Monday.
