/R E P E A T -- Media Advisory - Polo For Heart Brings Sport of Kings to Town This Weekend/

TORONTO, June 14, 2012 /CNW/ - Polo For Heart, the city's most chic and unique fundraising event gallops into town this weekend, bringing with it some of the world's best players.  The three-day tournament takes place June 15, 16 and 17 on a pristine 10-acre grassy polo field, just north of the city.

Eight thoroughbred horses thundering down the field at top speeds, while spectators clad in their finest attire sip champagne only a few feet away, make polo a sporting event like no other.

In addition to the two daily international matches, guests will also delight in the traditional champagne divot stomp, polo picnic contest, best hat contest, fashion show, pony parade, skydivers and art walk.

This year, Polo For Heart will kick-off with famed television anchor - and Polo For Heart Honorary Chair - Lloyd Robertson throwing in the first ball.

Canadian-born and now world-famous, professional polo players Brandon Phillips and Fred Mannix Jr. along with Team Mexico will headline Polo For Heart.

Now in its 33rd year as a charity event that raises money for heart and stroke related charities, Polo For Heart will donate this year's funds to the Heart and Stroke Foundation Centre for Stroke Recovery, as well as towards purchasing a second MRI for Southlake Regional Health Centre. Since its inception, Polo For Heart has raised more than $5 million.
