VANCOUVER, Sept. 8, 2014 /CNW/ - The Acne and Rosacea Society of Canada will hold a press conference in Vancouver on Wednesday September 10, 2014, to announce the launch of this new, national, not for profit society led by Canadian dermatologists, offering hope and help to more than 8 million Canadians affected by these common conditions.
The society will also kick-off its acne awareness campaign, Acne Action, featuring a new educational website, www.AcneAction.ca, with independent, reputable, in-depth information on acne.
The society will issue a challenge to Canadians to forget old misguided beliefs about acne, Change the way we think about acne and take action.
Some acne stats:
- Acne affects 90% of teens and is their # 1 skin health concern.
- Up to 1 in 5 women suffer from adult acne
- The rate of depression in acne patients is high at 10%
- Virtually every case of acne can be successfully treated.
