major international civil society gatherings/

MONTREAL, Feb. 22 /CNW Telbec/ - Close to a thousand representatives of civil society organizations from more than 100 countries are expected at Montreal's Palais des Congrès between August 20th and 23rd. They will attend the 9th World Assembly convened by CIVICUS : World Alliance for Citizen Participation and organized by l'Institut du Nouveau Monde (INM). This annual event is the first of a three year cycle, to be held in Montreal until 2012.

    
    What :  Press Conference given by CIVICUS' Secretary General, Ingrid
            Srinath and INM's Director General, Michel Venne, who will
            present the World Assemblies' Montreal cycle and officially
            launch the 2010 Assembly's registration period.
