Purolator's donation will help Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society bring fresh produce to those with limited access
VANCOUVER, Oct. 9, 2014 /CNW/ - Media are invited to the official donation of a Purolator curbside delivery vehicle to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society – a non-profit organization with the mission to empower people to nourish themselves by providing access to healthy food, education and training. This donation will help the food bank increase the capacity of its Curbside Fresh Market, which provides affordable local produce to areas of Vancouver with limited access to fresh food.
This initiative is an extension of the Purolator Tackle Hunger® program that has helped deliver the equivalent of more than 6.5 million pounds of food to food banks across Canada.

Hunger is an important issue that affects individuals and families locally in Vancouver, as well as across the country. Currently 26 per cent of those receiving support from the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society are children and 18 per cent are senior citizens.
