MONTREAL, Oct 1 /CNW Telbec/ - The Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation, in association with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, is pleased to invite medias to the CIBC Run for the Cure, which will take place at Maisonneuve Park on Sunday, October 3, starting at 9:30 a.m.
The Run kicks off Breast Cancer Awareness Month and is the largest national fundraiser organized by volunteers. With more than 6,100 women in Quebec diagnosed with breast cancer over the coming year, all proceeds from Run will be used to fund research, promote breast health through education and awareness and facilitate support for people affected by this disease. Every year, close to 20,000 people gather at Maisonneuve Park in the hope of one day living in a world without breast cancer.
Along with Mitsou, the Foundation's spokesperson for the fifth year, other public figures will be running, including a team of radio hosts from RockDétente Montreal, consisting of Joël Legendre, Sylvie Lauzon and Isabelle Lacasse, as well as a team of Olympic athletes. Two VJs from Musique Plus will also be participating.
The emcees for the day will be Marie-Élaine Proulx(RockDétente Montréal) and Vinny Barruco (Virgin Radio 96). Participants will also be able to enjoy the rhythms of percussionist Charlie K. and world-famous DJ-turned-singer Misstress Barbara, who will be joined by her band, Girls On A Ducati.
