Due to inclement weather, the location for the press conference has been changed

OSHAWA, ON, Jan. 9, 2017 /CNW/ - This holiday season, an extreme hospital bed shortage at Lakeridge Health has caused an emergency department overload. The hospital has responded by setting up an emergency command centre to deal with the high patient volumes, but the bed crisis at Lakeridge Health is a symptom of a much deeper problem.

The Durham Health Coalition will hold a press conference to respond. Speakers will include health professionals, patients and their family members, and concerned community members.
