MONTREAL, June 13, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - As McGill University's fundraising campaign comes to a close, Prof. Heather Munroe-Blum, Principal and Vice-Chancellor, and Yves Fortier, Co-Chair, Campaign McGill, will present to members of the media the record results achieved over the nine-year campaign. Prof. Munroe-Blum and Mr. Fortier will be joined by Martin Legault, 2013 graduate of McGill's Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
Of the total funds raised during the Campaign, 60% came from individuals, almost half of whom are from Quebec. Other gifts to McGill came from 114 different countries, representing an additional injection of several hundreds of millions of dollars in Quebec. The funds raised were designated to support students through increased scholarships and student aid, to recruit and retain faculty and to enhance teaching, learning and research facilities.
