Mental Health Conference to address inclusion, education, curriculum and peer support on college and university campuses

TORONTO, Feb. 18, 2014 /CNW/ - Students can feel overwhelmed, stressed or exhausted as they navigate the demands of college and university. How can post-secondary institutions create healthy campus environments that support their positive mental health? This critical question will be examined at the 15^th annual George Brown conference on mental health taking place February 27, 2014 at George Brown College, Waterfront Campus, 51 Dockside Drive, Toronto.

Hosted by George Brown College, the conference will bring together people from across Ontario, including educators, health care providers and students to discuss the concept of "healthy campuses" and examine current environments and common practices at post-secondary institutions.

Keynote speaker and moderator Jonny Morris, Canadian Mental Health Association, B.C. division, will talk about the current provincial and national landscape in post-secondary mental health. Guests will take part in discussions, reflecting on the opportunities that exist to create healthier campuses across Ontario.  

Key themes will include:

• Providing awareness and training opportunities
• Engaging student leadership
