MONTREAL, June 19, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Since May 23, the Canadian Cancer Society's 89 Relay For Life events took place across the province. To mark the important announcement of the total money raised in 2014, the CCS will create a gigantic "human work of art" as a symbol of solidarity with people living with cancer. The goal is to show that we're all a part of the solution and together we can do more and save lives.
Relay For Life closing event
Friday, June 20, 2014
From noon to 1:00 p.m.
McGill College Avenue (between St. Catherine and De Maisonneuve)
Using the back page of a newspaper, printed in yellow for the occasion (the CCS's
colour), the crowd will form a giant "+" sign
which will be immortalized in photos from the top of an office building.
The event will also feature testimonials, music and activities.
Various participants, including the Relay For Life spokesperson Dominic Arpin, CCS representatives and people living with cancer or in remission,
will be available for media interviews.
The Relay For Life is a 12-hour walk by night that brings together people who had or have cancer and their caregivers, families, friends, and colleagues. It's a unique occasion to raise money, celebrate life and fight against cancer. |
