/R E P E A T -- Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity - Volunteers sorting Spring Drive food donations during Easter/
TORONTO, March 29, 2013 /CNW/ -
WHAT: | Spring Drive Public Food Sorts
Almost six hundred volunteers on March 30 and April 1 will be sorting and packing food donations from the Spring Drive at Daily Bread Food Bank. On Saturday, March 30, Canadian Olympians will once again be volunteering their time to give back to the community.
The Spring Drive ends on April 6 and, as of March 28, $165,000 and 36,000 pounds of food have been raised. As a result of low food donations, the original goal of $200,000 is now $250,000 with the hopes that the extra money can be used to make up for any shortfalls in food donations.
Note: Daily Bread is fully booked for public sorting. No volunteers are required.
