For Those Who Can't Give up Summer, Centreville Announces New September Event!

TORONTO, Aug. 29, 2013 /CNW/ - ATTENTION ASSIGNMENT DESKS: Looking for the perfect location to grab footage, images and/or interviews for your "2013 Summer Wrap Up" coverage? Head over to Toronto's version of "Coney Island meets Central Park"―Centreville Amusement Park.

Media are invited to:

• See Toronto's "Billion-Dollar View" from the ferry, from the Island, and from atop Centreville's Saugreen Log Flume - a popular fixture in the park since 1972
• Go for a spin on Canada's ONLY operating Dentzel Carousel, which was built in 1907 and restored by expert wood carver Alex Cochrane of Huntsville, Ontario
• Interview the farmer who oversees the newly expanded Far Enough Farm and meet the Farm's new (baby) animal additions
• Capture all of the excitement as families and children bid farewell to Summer 2013
• Check out "Name that Goat! Presented by Minute Maid and Dasani," the first Far Enough Farm animal naming contest. One of the Farm's baby Cameroon Dwarf goats is still without a name, and participants are invited to enter their suggestions. Contest information is available at www.centreisland.ca
• AND, for families looking to extend their summer experience, Centreville will be open every weekend in September. New this year for September weekends, families can take part in the first ever "Centreville Amusing Race" - an interactive scavenger hunt which will reward one lucky family with a grand prize.

WHEN: Friday, August 30 to Monday, September 2 at Centre Island. The Park will be operating from 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on all three days. Every weekend in September the park is open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Far Enough Farm is open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. all year long.

WHERE: Centreville is a short ferry ride from the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal. A ferry ticket is required to travel to Centre Island, but after the purchase of a ferry ticket, there is no admission fee to Centreville Amusement Park.
