The Great Canadian Cheese Rolling Festival is back for its ninth year
OTTAWA, Aug. 16, 2016 /CNW/ - The Great Canadian Cheese Rolling Festival, one of Canada's most unique and fun-hearted events, is back for its ninth installment. Hosted by Dairy Farmers of Canada, the event will feature activities the whole family can enjoy including cheese rolling races, tastings and a market featuring some of the best cheeses in Canada.

Cheese rolling races will see costume-clad cheese chasers racing after an 11-pound wheel of Natural Pastures' Aged Farmhouse cheese down the slopes of Blackcomb Mountain until a female and male champion is declared. Both winners will receive a coveted wheel of Canadian cheese, as well as two Whistler Blackcomb season ski passes. |
Uphill dodge ball is a great option for those not brave enough to chase the cheese. Participants will run uphill, dodging balls rolling down the hill. |

Crazy costume contest encourages participants and attendees to dress in costume for a chance to win gift cards and prizes from festival sponsors. |

Cooking demos and recipe tastings with B.C. local and Vancouver Aquarium's Ocean Wise Executive Chef Ned Bell, who will be cultivating a Great Canadian Cheese Rolling Festival-inspired dish, showcasing Canadian cheese. |

Cheese seminars will feature cheese expert David Beaudoin from Dairy Farmers of Canada, who will be sharing his knowledge of Canadian cheese and wine pairings. |

Enjoy some dairy goodness at the smoothie bar, while schmoozing with event attendees. |
