/R E P E A T -- Media invitation - Announcement of the artist and work to be featured on the 21-storey MaryRobert project in Griffintown/ Français
MONTREAL, May 29, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Serge Goulet, president of Devimco Immobilier, invites media representatives to a press conference announcing the winner of the competition to create a 62-metre high work of art on the mixed-use MaryRobert project, marking the entrance to the city and the urban landscape.
The initiative to integrate a work of art of this scale (21 storeys) is a first for a Quebec real estate project.
A press conference will be held on Thursday, May 31, at 11:15 a.m. at the project sales office in District Griffin™ on the southeast corner of Peel and Wellington. The selected artist will present the concept and show sketches of the work.
Benoît Dorais, chair of the City of Montréal's Executive Committee and Mayor of the Southwest borough, will be in attendance along with Carole Handfield, Vice President of Investments at Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ.
In March, Devimco Immobilier launched an invitation-only competition and asked four renowned artists — Nicolas Baier, René Derouin, Doyon-Rivest et Pascale Girardin — to submit an art project to be integrated into the four interior faces of the signature project's two towers.
