MONTRÉAL, May 24, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Montréal Space for Life invites media representatives to look at nature through a child's eyes and be guided by their senses at the 19^th Great Gardening Weekend, on from May 27 to 29 at the Montréal Botanical Garden. Be part of Quebec's largest gardening fair. Lots of finds and new features in store this year!

Friday, May 27

9 a.m. to 6 p.m. – Great Gardening Weekend

Pick up some tips for planning your garden from over 80 exhibitors, plant growers and accessory designers. Young visitors will have fun at the "sensory stations" in the Croquarium trailer (new) as they explore a world of tastes, sounds, fragrances, colours and textures. You can chat with experts (new) about edible and decorative landscaping and biological pest control. The Garden gift shop will have a few ready-to-plant My Space for Life Garden kits for attracting butterflies, birds or biodiversity to your yard or balcony. Hurry, numbers are limited!

10 a.m. – Henry Teuscher Award

The Henry Teuscher Award will be presented to an individual who has distinguished him- or herself over the years with an exceptional contribution to promoting horticulture and advancing horticultural knowledge in Quebec.

6 p.m. – Horticultural Merit Awards

See the 2016 winners of this contest designed to introduce gardeners to rare, new, little-known or forgotten plants and innovative complementary products.

IMPORTANT
The Great Gardening Weekend will be held from May 27 to 29. The Botanical Garden and Insectarium will not be participating in Montréal Museums Day on Sunday, May 29.
