MONTREAL, April 5, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - This morning, MONTRÉAL SPACE FOR LIFE is inviting media representatives to enjoy a breathtaking, moving experience with the very first visitors of the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium. The visit kicks off with the immersive show Continuum, an odyssey through the beauty and forces of space, created by Montréal artists Michel Lemieux and Victor Pilon. Next, in the Milky Way theatre, a scientific interpreter gives visitors a "guided tour of the Universe" thanks to a projector on the cutting edge of technology. Finally, the fun and interactive exhibition Exo: Our Search for Life in the Universe offers a wide range of answers to the question: Does life exist beyond Earth? and reveals a wonderful collection of some 300 meteorites, some of which come from the Moon and Mars.

The Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium project was made possible thanks to the financial contributions of the City of Montréal, the ministère de l'Enseignement supérieur, de la Recherche, de la Science et de la Technologie, the Secrétariat à la région métropolitaine, the ministère de la Culture et des Communications, Canada Economic Development and Rio Tinto Alcan. The land on which the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium was built was ceded by the City of Montréal and the Olympic Park.
