MONTREAL, Aug. 8, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - On Thursday, August 9 at 10 a.m., media representatives are invited to meet the Polytechnique Montréal students who just won an international astronautics competition held by the Experimental Sounding Rocket Association in the Utah desert in the United States.
Zéphyr, the rocket the team used for the Intercollegiate Rocketry Engineering Competition (IREC 2012), was recovered in the desert after reaching an altitude of 9,920 feet. It will be on location on August 9. The meeting will take place in the presence of the Polytechnique community and young campers from the Folie Technique science day camp.
A year of preparations, 6,000 hours of work, the challenge of an international competition, a stunning victory—it all adds up to an unforgettable adventure well worth sharing.
