Highlights of the day

8:30	Opening of the Salon sur les meilleures pratiques d'affaires The media are invited to meet with employees and business leaders who will showcase the practices and methods that enable them to hone their competitive edge. Forty companies will present improvement projects such as implementing Lean, setting up an innovation process, eliminating waste, improving organizational performance, implementing a recognition program, ensuring employee well-being, etc. The projects are presented by companies from the manufacturing and services sectors. Lean Casino and Tool Demos are important features of the Salon. In a fun atmosphere, participants are encouraged to discover the power of Lean tools in terms of teamwork and to learn how to put in place simple processes and practices that foster creativity and implement employees' ideas.
10:30	Leaders' Forum: five inspirational leaders explain their business vision Moderated by Stéphan Bureau Mélanie La Couture, Chief Operating Officer, OSM; Germain Lamonde, Chairman and CEO, EXFO inc.; Natalie Larivière, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, V Interactions inc.; Blaise Renaud, Chairman and CEO, Renaud-Bray; and Robert Verreault, General Manager, Joliette Plant, Bridgestone Canada.
12:00	Awards Ceremony for the Grands Prix québécois de la qualité presented The highlight of this important gathering will be the recognitions of excellence awarded to Quebec organizations that are amongst the most competitive. The Grands Prix québécois de la qualité are the highest honours awarded by the Government of Quebec to businesses and organizations that have achieved great distinction in terms of management quality and overall performance.
3:00	Major Conference: Don't implement Lean, become Lean! By Michael Ballé, author, cofounder of the "LEAN en entreprise" Project and acclaimed speaker in the worldwide LEAN movement. His message: To succeed in a LEAN initiative, you must use the tools with an attitude of respect for the individual.
