MONTRÉAL, May 28, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Media representatives are invited to attend the 10th consecutive season of the Maasdam in the Port of Montréal this coming May 31. To mark this special occasion, the Montréal Cruise Committee will present a commemorative plaque to the ship's captain. Also, gifts will be presented to the 100,000th passenger of the Maasdam to disembark at the Port of Montréal, as well at the 100,000th passenger to board the ship for a cruise to Boston.
Special activities to mark this anniversary will take place all day long at the Cruise Terminal.

Confirmation required: Media wishing to attend the ceremony must RSVP before May 30 at noon to Alexandra Graveline: [email protected]. On the day of the event, a piece of ID must be presented to enter the Cruise Terminal.
Last year, the Port of Montréal welcomed 47 cruise ships and a record 55,611 passengers. Including crews, nearly 70,000 people boarded or disembarked in Montréal, 70% of whom were international tourists.
Supported by Tourisme Québec, the Montréal Cruise Committee comprises the Montréal Port Authority and Tourisme Montréal, as well as six other local associations and organisations: Aéroports de Montréal (Montréal airports), the Old Port of Montréal Corporation, the Montréal Casino, the Old Montréal Business Development Corporation, the Hotel Association of Greater Montréal and the City of Montréal.
