MONTREAL, Oct. 17, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Following the successful Wapikoni benefit concert in 2011, the rapper Samian is back on stage this year with Zachary Richard, Manu Militari, Sonia Basile-Martel, Sage, Sola, Gaële and other great guests. Preceded by a screening of three short films by filmmakers of First Nations communities in 2012, the benefit concert will also include the presentation of the Astral people's choice award to Réal Junior Leblanc for his short film Blockade 138 - the Innu Resistance and the Lozeau award to Helga Awashish for distinguished participation.
Opening the evening will be Ghislain Picard, Chief of the Assembly of First Nations of Quebec and Labrador and Elizabeth Larouche, Minister for Aboriginal Affairs
