WENDAKE, QC, April 4, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The Chief of the Assembly of First Nations of Quebec and Labrador (AFNQL), Mr. Ghislain Picard, accompanied by the Minister responsible for Native Affairs, Mr. Geoffrey Kelley, will be meeting with the media in order to officially launch the New Pathways: Foundation for the future of the First Nations. With a mission focused on contributing to improving the conditions of life of the First Nations, it will be funding initiatives fostering social and human development among the individuals within their communities.
The New Pathways Foundation is a result of the work that has been carried out over the past few years by many people and organisations. It is in line with the objectives of the fight against poverty initiative of the First Nations of Quebec. This initiative was created thanks to support from the Ministère de l'Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale and the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Health and Social Services Commission.
