GATINEAU, QC, Dec. 11, 2013 /CNW/ - Have you ever wondered what happens on trails when the hikers are away?
Following the flood last summer in Wateron Lakes National Park, the Akamina Parkway was closed for repairs. While the trail was not being used by hikers, it became part of the daily routine of many animals. Using it as an easy travel route, many animals were caught on tape exploring the trail that would regularly be used by hikers at Waterton Lakes National Park.
Please take a look at this link for a time-lapse video of curious animals exploring the empty trail, http://bit.ly/18x24l6.
If you would like to feature this story, Parks Canada can arrange an interview with Doreen McGillis, External Relations Manager, to learn more about these fascinating animal behaviors.
