/R E P E A T -- Metalworking Manufacturing & Production Expo set to return to Coquitlam, B.C and debut in Calgary, AB./

TORONTO, April 10, 2014 /CNW/ - Canadian Metalworking magazine, Canada's leading B2B publication for metalworking, will debut its tabletop trade show, the Metalworking Manufacturing & Production Expo (MMP Expo) at the Commonwealth Centre in Calgary, Alberta on May 27, 2014. Also, based on the success of last year's show in Coquitlam, B.C., the show will be returning to the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver Theatre on May 6, 2014.

Both locations offer a free, one-day show allowing manufacturing professionals the opportunity to interact with suppliers from machine tool, cutting tool, fabricating, quality, and finishing industries. Attendees can network and discuss the latest trends in aerospace, automotive, medical, shipbuilding and other manufacturing work.

Included at both locations this year will be a keynote address from Edwin Beange, President of Hansen Industries Ltd. The keynote will run from 9:00-10:00 a.m., and cover issues such as competition from China and Mexico, finding qualified employees and downward price pressures. Shows in western Canada will be co-located with the Design Engineering Expo (DEX). Using the same tabletop format, DEX will attract regional manufacturers and job shops, as well as engineers, product developers, machine builders and systems integrators.

Another edition of the MMP Expo will take place on October 23, 2014 at the Ciociaro Club in Windsor, ON.
