GANDER, NL, Sept. 26, 2018 /CNW/ - Unifor's National President, Jerry Dias and the President of the N.L. Federation of Labour, Mary Shortall, will join the picket line to stand with 30 Aerospace workers who have been locked out 92 weeks in Gander, N.L.
"Thursday marks the 647th day that a U.S. employer has locked out our members in an attempt to break our union. We now have hundreds of members standing outside saying that is not going to happen," said Dias.
Journalists are invited to attend a news conference at the D-J Composites picket line where union activists from across Canada have taken a stand, shutting down the facility and effectively locking out the scabs and managers from the U.S. owned company.
D-J Composites is owned by a Kansas State engineering firm that has twice been found guilty of bargaining in bad faith.
