OTTAWA, April 24, 2015 /CNW/ - As the deadline to register to receive the enhanced Universal Child Care Benefit (UCCB) in July quickly approaches, the Honourable Pierre Poilievre, Minister of Employment and Social Development, Minister for the National Capital Commission and Member of Parliament for Nepean–Carleton, will attend a local event to search for the families that are not signed up. In order to receive the benefit in July, families must register before May 1.
In Canada, there are an estimated 200,000 families that are not registered for the UCCB. In Ottawa, there are an estimated 4,800 families and 8,300 children who are at risk of not getting the enhanced UCCB unless they register. For more information, visit www.canada.ca/taxsavings.
