OTTAWA, Sept. 29, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - Canada's federal correctional officers are taking the debate over the Harper government's attacks on unions directly to voters tomorrow afternoon.
Between 1 pm and 5 pm September 30, more than 200 members of the Union of Canadian Correctional Officers (UCCO-SACC-CSN) will be going door-to-door in the riding of Ottawa West-Nepean to speak to residents about how all Canadian workers will be harmed by an assault on their democratic rights to join together and collectively bargain their working conditions.
Journalists are invited to a press briefing at the York room of the Delta Ottawa City Centre hotel, 101 Lyon Street N., at 1 pm Tuesday, when UCCO-SACC-CSN National President Kevin Grabowsky and Vice-President Jason Godin will explain the campaign being launched. They will explain why unionized correctional officers feel there is "Danger Ahead" should the Conservative government be able to fully implement its anti-union agenda.
