AYLMER, QC, Sept. 26, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - The rebirth of Aylmer, Quebec's historic British Hotel is complete and the doors will be thrown wide open to the public and media to experience it.
The four year, multi-million dollar heritage renovation of this 1834 building features the original metre thick stone walls and hand hewn timber beams, surrounded by modern conveniences and luxurious stylings. The now completed hotel offers ten sumptuous rooms, situated above a pub, restaurant featuring live music and a banquet facility. Across a limestone patio is a former bank, now serving as the British Café.
British owner Mike Clemann will be joined by Gatineau Mayor Maxime Pedneaud-Jobin, Member of Parliament for Hull-Aylmer Greg Fergus, and MNA for Pontiac Andre Fortin.
Public and media tours of the facilities will be offered on September 29, 2016 from 4-6 pm, accompanied by a free open bar from 4-5 pm. VIP presentations and the ribbon cutting run from 6-6:30 pm.
Festivities continue throughout the weekend with free concerts and children's entertainers, and more public tours.
